Sunrise 2027 Migration

Paste a ZPL label with EAN/UPC, GS1-128, ITF-14 or GS1 DataBar: the GTIN (plus batch, expiry and serial number) is put into a QR code with GS1 Digital Link URI or a GS1 DataMatrix, placed in a free area with quiet zone and checked again with the Sunrise 2027 rules.

Empty = the GS1 resolver https://id.gs1.org. Your own domain only if it resolves GS1 Digital Link URIs. Nothing is called - the address is only written into the QR code.

Migration assistant and pre-check, not a certification: verify the printed label with a barcode verifier and agree the data with your GS1 Member Organisation or your retailer. The linear barcode stays on the label (dual marking during the transition).

Sunrise 2027 in short

With GS1 Sunrise 2027, retail scanners should read 2D barcodes - a QR code with a GS1 Digital Link URI or a GS1 DataMatrix - in addition to EAN/UPC. They carry more than the GTIN: batch, best-before date or serial number, and with Digital Link also a web address for consumers. During the transition both codes stay on the pack.

The tool finds the GTIN on the label (EAN-13/8, UPC-A/E, GS1-128 with (01), ITF-14, GS1 DataBar), takes batch (10), expiry (17), best-before (15), serial number (21) and other AIs along, encodes them as GS1 Digital Link URI (QR, model 2) or GS1 element strings (DataMatrix ECC 200 with FNC1), searches a free area with the required quiet zone and checks the migrated label with the Sunrise 2027 rules. If there is no room, it tells you how much space is needed - or makes the label longer if you allow it.
