What GS1 DataMatrix is for

GS1 DataMatrix is the standard for pharmaceuticals (Falsified Medicines Directive) and for components with barely any room for a barcode. It carries the same application identifiers as GS1-128 in a fraction of the space.

The most common mistake is in the separators: an element of variable length must be followed by FNC1 – but not the last one. Separating after every variable field produces a code some scanners read and others do not. This tool places the separators itself and shows them as <GS>.
